Guntur doctor Karthik Mikkineni to join Stanford

Karthik to take up new assignment on an annual package of Rs. 2.08 Cr 

Guntur: Karthik Mikkineni, a doctor from Guntur town in Andhra Pradesh, has been selected as Professor in the Vascular Surgery department of Stanford University in the US.  He will join the School of Medicine of the Stanford University on a three year contract. 

Dr Karthik Mikkineni will join as non-American Professor on an annual package of Rs. 2.08 Cr for three years. 

Karthik Mikkineni completed his MBBS course at Guntur Medical College and then joined Weill Cornell Medical School in New York for a higher course.  Later, he completed PG Course as Vascular Surgery Resident at Pittsburgh Medical School in Pennsylvania. 

Karthik will take up his new assignment shortly at Stanford University. Karthik told a vernacular daily in Guntur that further extension of his three year contract with Stanford Medical School will be at his discretion.

“But I intend to establish a good hospital in our new capital city Amaravati after three years,” he told the daily.  Telugus Today wishes him all the best in his new assignment.
