Hyderabad: Tollywood hero Ravi Teja’s mother Rajyalakshmi disclosed here on Monday that he had received notices from SIT asking him to appear before it in connection with the probe into drug racket in Hyderabad.

“He is shooting for his new film at an outdoor location and he will appear before SIT on July 22,” she disclosed in a chat  with a regional news channel.  But she hastened to add that he has nothing to do with drug abuse .

“He doesn’t even smoke and I don’t know how his name appeared and how he got notices. He will meet the SIT officers on July 22. Whenever drug racket news comes to the fore, names of my children are dragged into this. It is true that Ravi Teja has friendship with director Puri Jagannath but has nothing to do with drugs,” she said, adding that he became lean because of exercises and not due to drugs,” she said.

Speaking on accidental death of her son Bharat, Rajyalakshmi said that Bhart had given up his vices long ago and he was also selected for Big Boss realty show. “He was doing exercises to become slim. That day, he went to the hotel for doing exercises and swimming. Unfortunately, he died in the accident,” she said, denying that he was drunk or under the influence of drugs on the day of accident.
