Jayakrishna also fined for Rs. 25 lakh in cheque bounce case
Hyderabad : Nandamuri Jayakrishna, son of legendary actor late NT Rama Rao, was awarded six months simple imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs.25 lakh in a cheque bounce case.
The tenth special metropolitan magistrate court at the Errum Manjil in Hyderabad gave judgement to this effect on Wednesday in the cheque bounce case. The court told him he can appeal in the higher court in the next 30 days if he wants to appeal.
Jayakrishna gave two cheques for Rs. 25 lakh, one for Rs.19 and the other for Rs. 6 lakh to one B. Narsinga Rao last year. He was the parking and canteen contractor at the Ramakrishna theater complex at Abids. The cheques were issued to return the caution deposit to him following the cancellation of his contracts.
Jayakrishna cancelled the contracts as he gave the complex for development of a multiplex to a builder. As the two cheques were bounced, Narsing Rao approached the court. Out of Rs. 25 lakh finie, Rs. 19 lakh will go to Narsinga Rao and the remaining amount would go the account of the court towards fine.
