Rajamouli to finalise Amaravati City concept

Vijayawada : Tollywood director S.S. Rajamouli called on CM Chandrababu Naidu here on Wednesday and discussed the designs of Capital City Amaravati.

Rajamouli came to Vijayawada in the morning and had met Chandrababu three times during the course of the day to discuss the designs of Capital City. Naidu requested him to interact with designers Norman Foster personally in London and finalize the designs of the capital city.

“The Capital City should look very attractive and beautiful and reflect the greatness of Telugu culture and traditions. The designs should be on par with the looks and greatness of top rated structures in the world,” he told Rajamouli.

Rajamouli promised to help the Government in finalizing a concept for Capital City designs. He said he would first hold a video conference with the Norman Foster representatives in London and then visit them.

In between meetings with Chandrababu Naidu, Rajamouli toured in the Capital region to have an idea of the geography of the area. He also took a boat  ride in River Krishna to develop an idea of the backwaters of the Prakasam Barrage.

Later, Minister P Narayana told reporters that Rajamouli will only help develop a concept to shape up the designs. “He will have nothing  to do with the designs. He will help the government in developing a concept to finalize the designs,” he said in an interaction with the media.
