Tollywood drug addicts set to face arrests

Hyderabad: As the drug drama is unfolding fast, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the drug peddling and abuse case in Hyderabad is reportedly getting ready to arrest some prominent personalities.

As the investigation has reached a key stage, Excise Enforcement Director Akun Sabharwal has cancelled his leave on the orders of the Chief Minister KCR. The SIT is about to send notices to another six prominent persons in the Tollywood.

The latest on the probe into drugs racket is that the SIT has collected strong evidence against two persons who are sons of two leading Tollywood producers and a hero.

They may be arrested soon, according to reports. The others in the fresh list of Tollywood personalities are a top music director and his brother and a fight master, according to reports.  There are unconfirmed reports that some of these prominent personalities may be arrested even before they are called for questioning,

Calvin spills beans

The latest names seem to have been spilled out by the drug racket kingpin Calvin, Khuddus and Wahid who are presently in the SIT custody on court orders. The special officers have been grilling them in two secret locations since Saturday night  and getting information.

Kelvin also told his interrogators that he knew the other drug  peddlers Trenden and Nikhil Setti who introduced him to the Tollywood personalities. He disclosed that he met several top cine personalities through a top director and supplied drugs to him and an actress who is very close to him.

“I spoke to the director, his manager and his car driver nearly 185 times in six months.  Unless it is emergency, I am not in the habit  of meeting the movie personalities directly. Generally, they would order drugs through Whatsapp and FB messengers and I would send them through my boys,” he told SIT.

Calvin also informed the SIT that two youngsters, sons of top producers, are his customers and he was giving them drugs very frequently. “Son of another producer is also my customer. He has been addicted to drugs for the last six months. But he was recently sent for a de-addiction center for 25 days. But he is still my customer,” he reportedly told his interrogators.

The SIT has also decoded a secret folder in Calvan mobile phone and got more information on Tollywood drug addicts. The SIT is now breaking into the bank accounts of the drug peddlers Calvin and others. Calvin disclosed that he was getting drugs from Goa by road. His contacts in Germany and Netherlands used to send them to Goa by couriers.

Meanwhile, the two-day SIT custody of Calvin and others is continuing. Later, they would be sent back to Charlapally jail.
